Location: Garasbaley District
, Banadir Region, Somalia
The Somali Aid and International Development Organization (SIADO) has successfully conducted a food distribution initiative in Garasbaley District, targeting vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs). This humanitarian response reached approximately 266 IDP households, recently displaced from the Lower Shabelle region due to ongoing conflict between Al-Shabaab and government forces.
These displaced families, having fled violence and insecurity, arrived in Mogadishu with urgent needs for food, shelter, and basic services. Recognizing the critical situation, SIADO responded promptly, providing essential food assistance to support the most vulnerable individuals, particularly women, children, and the elderly.
The distribution was made possible through the generous contributions of the Somali diaspora and international partners committed to humanitarian relief and development. SIADO continues to play a key role in assisting displaced communities across the Banadir region, working to alleviate suffering and promote resilience.
This initiative is part of SIADO’s broader mission to support displaced and marginalized populations across Somalia through sustainable aid, advocacy, and community-driven solutions.
