Summary
The Siado organization is embarking on a critical journey towards environmental development and sustainability in Somalia for the period 2024-2025. This strategy outlines our plans, objectives, and ways to mitigate environmental challenges in a country that has long suffered from environmental degradation.
Our strategy for 2024-2025 is grounded in our commitment to promote environmental conservation, improve livelihoods through sustainable use of natural resources, and build resilience against climate change. We aim to achieve this by focusing on four key strategic objectives: promoting sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing water management, strengthening climate resilience, and fostering environmental education and awareness. Each objective is accompanied by a set of strategic initiatives designed to address the root causes of environmental challenges and foster sustainable development.
The success of our strategy will be measured against specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) indicators, and monitored and evaluated periodically to ensure progress and adapt as needed. We recognize that the path ahead is fraught with potential risks and uncertainties, and we have developed a comprehensive risk management and mitigation plan to address these.
We are confident that, with the support and cooperation of our partners, stakeholders, and the communities we serve, we will make significant strides towards our vision of a sustainable and resilient Somalia. This is not just our strategy; it is our commitment to the people and the environment of Somalia.
