SIADO’s protection work focuses on fundamental human entitlements, dignity and the rights of vulnerable populations, including older people, women, children and displaced communities.
Documented themes include child protection, individual protection assistance, prevention of sexual and gender-based violence, rights monitoring, awareness and advocacy. SIADO’s GBV referral pathway training is one documented activity related to strengthening awareness and connections to support services. SIADO has also participated in disability rights advocacy.
Protection programming should be conducted safely, with respect for confidentiality and the choices and dignity of people seeking support.
